Fed-up tenant types furious letter to new neighbours in ‘nice and quiet’ apartment block – slamming them for dragging furniture, blasting music and ‘popping gas cylinders’ at 4am

  • Furious tenant typed a letter to their new neighbours over various offenses
  • In the letter, the Perth person complained of undue noise during the night
  • Offensive sounds included running the washing machine and moving furniture
  • The letter went viral on Facebook, leaving many social media users divided
  • Some said the tenant should move, others said the letter was warranted

A fed-up tenant has typed a furious letter to their new neighbours threatening to report them for blasting music, stomping their feet and moving furniture at 4am.

In the scathing, expletive-ridden letter, addressed to the ‘inconsiderate little f***s on level 7, the tenant claimed their Perth apartment complex was once ‘nice and quiet’.

‘But you have found a way to f*** that,’ the letter reads.

‘Why is is that every f***ing night between 1am to 4am you find the f***ing need to drag furniture around, stomp through your apartment, run your washing machine and have mates over!?

‘Do you have the slightest bit of consideration for others?’

The furious author reminded their neighbours that people had ‘actual jobs and lives’ and could not afford to be kept up throughout the night.

‘We sleep at reasonable normal times, but no – old Jay Z and Dre need to have their mates over, popping ya [sic] little whip cream gas cylinders and apparently running a furniture removal company through the early hours of the morning!’ the letter continued.

The tenant urged the group to move out if they wanted to continue their party lifestyle.

‘F*** off to a suburban house and do your dumb inconsiderate s***! Not in an apartment complex – this letter should not even have to be typed to you, you should have f***ing consideration but you don’t,’ they wrote.

‘Moving forward, every single noise you make after 11pm will be documented, recorded and passed onto the strata company! As well as follow up letters posted around the complex.’

Breaking their aggressive tone, the homeowners signed off: ‘Thanks for your time, Flavour Flav & Coolio’.

The letter was posted to satirical Facebook group The Bell Tower Times this week where it quickly went viral, racking up more than 3600 reactions.

But the tenants’ complaints divided social media users, with some suggesting they should move out instead.

‘Anyone who’s lived an apartment complex knows that your going to have to deal with noise of your neighbours. Maybe this author should move to a retirement village if they want some tranquility they so desperately crave,’ one man said.

The disgruntled tenant said they could hear the group of tenants 'popping gas cylinders', which contain nitrous Oxide, a gas which is sometimes inhaled as a recreational drug

Another person chimed: ‘[This is] the whole reason I live alone in a house. I work night shift and need quiet in the day and often doing my housework at night because I don’t change my sleep pattern on nights off.’

‘Good old fashioned knock on the door and be polite asking them to be more considerate would be the answer. With a flog of a letter like this expect to listen to jay z and Dre even louder in the future,’ a third wrote.

Others felt the letter was warranted.

‘To be fair, anyone being a constant prick between 1 and 4am, especially on weekdays, deserves all the wrath they get,’ someone else wrote.

‘I thought he was polite, I’d be losing it if someone did that to me 1-4am in the morning, don’t live in an apartment if you don’t know how to be considerate, simple as that!’ a fifth comment read.

Nitrous oxide, which is used medically to relieve pain and as a propellant in whipped cream bottles, is packaged in small cylinder cartridges.

The practice of inhaling the gas, also known as ‘doing a nang’, gives the user a temporary ‘high’ while starving their brain of oxygen – an extremely dangerous process which can lead to death and permanent disability.
