Detectives are hunting a gunman after a solicitor and father-of-two was named as the victim in a nighttime city centre shooting.
Police found Khuram Javed fatally wounded on the streets of Sheffield following reports of gunfire at around 9.40pm on Saturday.
Mr Javed, 30, was pronounced dead at the scene, just yards from Sheffield United FC’s Bramall Lane stadium.
A second 31-year-old man also suffered gunshot wounds and was taken to hospital for treatment.
A police cordon was put in place around the grounds of St Mary’s Church and towards Bramall Lane while a forensic tent was erected nearby.

Mr Javed worked as a solicitor in the city after graduating with a degree in law from Sheffield Hallam University and a legal practice qualification from the University of Sheffield.
Police had not officially named as they launched the murder probe but locals were seen tributes to Mr Javed on social media.
The Justice for All People campaign posted on Facebook: ‘It is with great sadness to announce the tragic death of Khuram Javed son of Javed Khan.
‘Family and friends have taken to social media to express their grief on the tragic passing of the University of Sheffield law graduate, who worked as a solicitor at a local law firm on London Road.’

One friend posted: ‘Very sad news about the death of Khuram Javed… at such [a] young [age] in such tragic circumstances.
‘I have known him from such [a] young age and I can’t compliment him enough – one of the best kids I have known all my life.’
A fundraiser to support Mr Javed’s family and funeral costs has been launched on GoFundMe.
Organiser Kash Khan said: ‘Words can’t express the sorrow at [the] loss of such a wonderful young man’s life. He has left behind two beautiful children.’

Detective Chief Inspector Michael Hakin said: ‘Officers have been carrying out extensive enquiries overnight and we can now confirm that we are investigating a murder following a firearms discharge in Clough Road, Sheffield.
‘The investigation is still in its early stages, but our enquiries continue at pace. A significant number of officers remain in the area.
‘No arrests have been made at this time.
‘I would urge anyone with information about what happened to come forward. If you think you might have witnessed the incident or if you saw or heard anything suspicious, please speak to us.
‘I am acutely aware that this incident may be distressing to the local community. Please be assured that we have deployed additional resources to the area, and our specialist team continues to carry out enquiries to locate those responsible.
‘If you have any concerns, please do speak to our officers out on patrol.
‘They are there to help and support you.’
