A Sydney croupier has been charged as part of an alleged card cheating scam, banking $35,000 along with a casino customer, police claim.

The man will appear in court on Wednesday charged as part of an ongoing investigation into an alleged card cheating scam.

In February 2021, police received information that an employee and patron had been observed cheating at a card table at a Sydney casino. 

Detectives arrested a 26-year-old man at a casino in Sydney on Wednesday 3 March 2021.

He was taken to Day Street Police Station and charged with engage in conduct that corrupts betting outcome of event and dishonestly obtain financial advantage by deception.

Police will allege in court that the man, who was a Baccarat table dealer at the casino, was involved in an organised cheating scam with a patron between February and March 2021, totalling over $35,000.

The Hurstville man was granted conditional bail to appear before Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday.
