Former Australian Test star Stuart MacGill has entered a not guilty plea to charges of stalking and intimidating a Sydney bar owner but did not appear in court after testing positive for Covid-19.
The leg-spin bowler, 51, did not appear at Downing Centre in Sydney on Wednesday due to the need to quarantine after contracting the virus.
The charges of intimidation and using offensive language in a public place relate to an incident on February 1, when police allege Mr MacGill and another man verbally abused Samantha Ford on Kent Street at Millers Point
Ms Ford is the licensee of The Argyle restaurant and bar in The Rocks.

Mr MacGill had handed himself into Day Street Police Station last Friday when the charges were laid.
Police asked the court to make an AVO against Mr MacGill to protect Ms Ford.
After his please of not guilty were entered, Magistrate Susan Horan ordered Mr MacGill to have his bail continued.
Another man, Stephen Kerlin, 54, was charged with common assault, intimidation and breaching an AVO in relation to the incident with Ms Ford.
Daily Mail Australia recently revealed Mr MacGill has been working as a sommelier at the recently opened Greek eatery Ploos at Campbells Cove in the Rocks.

The former Test player, who took 208 wickets for Australia, alleged he was kidnapped off a street near his home in Cremorne on April 14 last year in the wake of a cocaine deal gone wrong.
He was driven to a remote house in Bringelly in Sydney’s south-west where he was allegedly beaten before being released at Belmore.
MacGill told police he had been stripped naked by his captors who threatened to cut off his fingers if he didn’t hand over $150,000.
Detectives have insisted MacGill was unwittingly embroiled in the aftermath of a cocaine rip-off and was the victim of crime.
