Cities across the United States are bracing for a verdict in the Derek Chauvin murder trial, with Chicago Police allegedly telling units to ‘get gas if needed’ on Monday afternoon.

The 12-person jury is expected to deliver its verdict Monday afternoon after just 10 hours of deliberations.

Chauvin has been charged with third-degree murder over the death of unarmed black man George Floyd in Minneapolis last Memorial Day, which sparked widespread Black Lives Matter protests.

The are fears of nationwide unrest if a not guilty verdict is returned.

In addition to Chicago Police appearing to be prepared with gas, Portland Mayor Ted has called for calm.

‘It’s my hope that regardless of the jury’s decision, Portlanders will respond with the safety of their neighbors in mind,’ he stated Monday.

He had declared state of emergency; PPB will have OSP, Mult.Cty sheriff’s office to help – OR National Guard on standby
