Canada got revenge over the US women’s hockey team Thursday by snatching back the Olympic gold medal America won against them at the last winter games.

A 3-2 final score for Canada saw them in raptures after they held off a threatened fight back.

Canada were 3-1 up into the third and final period when the US made it 3-2 and had several chances to equalize.

The US, who were hit by the loss of top scorer Brianna Decker early in the tournament, could not match the Canadian firepower who won with two goals from captain Marie-Philip Poulin.
