Boy, 16, is stabbed in the stomach in the Brisbane CBD before staggering more than 100m where he collapsed and died in a pool of blood

A 16-year-old boy has been stabbed to death in the Brisbane CBD after he was confronted by an armed man.

The teenager was stabbed in the stomach while walking on Emma Miller Place, near Roma Street Station, about 8.00pm on Thursday.

He staggered to King George Square where he collapsed in a pool of blood.

The alleged attacker was seen running towards the nearby Roma Street Parklands before witnesses lost sight of him.

The boy was treated by paramedics at the scene and rushed to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, but did not survive.

Police urged witnesses to contact them immediately.
