Race awareness training for civil servants also warns that panels of white men should not interview black women for jobs. 

And on immigration, the course tells officials that it is as ‘offensive as it is inaccurate’ to claim the country is full.

The e-learning material is to be ditched for a new diversity and inclusion strategy for the Civil Service this week.

The Cabinet Office said the new strategy ‘will ensure that we draw on the talents of people from the widest range of geographical, social and career backgrounds’.

Sources told the Sunday Telegraph some of the previous advice looked patronising, adding: ‘Civil servants of all races would surely find this counterproductive and divisive.’

In one scenario a group of fictitious Whitehall officials go to a pub despite two colleagues saying they could not join for cultural reasons. 

As work is discussed at the pub, it is claimed ‘discrimination’ and ‘harassment’ may be taking place.
